For many homeless youth, mental illness poses the greatest obstacle to their ability to become independent. For this reason, Covenant House New Jersey opened Nancy's Place in Montclair to address their special needs and help them learn the skills they need to live on their own. This supportive housing program for homeless youth with mental illness houses eight residents at a time.

Covenant House provides food, shelter, immediate crisis care, and other important services to homeless youth under the age of 22. As the largest privately funded agency in the Americas offering free help to homeless kids, Covenant House provides 24/7 crisis care and on-going support for kids and teenagers in need of a safe place to go.
